Former defender of Kyiv’s Dynamo, Stefan Reshko, shared his thoughts on the recent failures of his former team in the Ukrainian championship (three consecutive draws).
Stefan Reshko. Photo — fcdynamo.com— In our time, the Dynamo team could not have such issues even remotely. It seems that the current “Dynamo” has problems. And not so much of a sporting nature, but a psychological one. I don’t know what exactly is happening, but there is disorder in the team.
— After a series of point losses, impulsive fans are calling for the resignation of Alexander Shovkovsky. What do you think about this?
— What is there to think about? Resignation is one thing. But who would take over the team in that case? I don’t see suitable candidates. It’s important for Shovkovsky to continue working and get out of this streak of failures. After all, there can be bad luck that leaves its mark, continuing from match to match. But sometimes, all of this breaks through and everything falls into place.
In football, every team always has slip-ups, and when it is in good hands, they can be beneficial. You talk it over, point out each other’s mistakes — and then start working hard from scratch again. It’s necessary to forget those unsuccessful matches and continue playing. The season is just gaining momentum, so there is time to correct the situation.
