The goalkeeper of “Karpaty,” Nazar Domchak, shared his impressions after the match with “Dynamo” (3:3) in the 7th round of the Ukrainian championship.

Nazar Domchak

— Honestly, it’s hard to talk; emotionally it’s hard to analyze the game. We were exhausted. We led 2:0, had moments to essentially decide the game, because “Karpaty” could have scored more. Then came that goal before halftime, and after that, well, “Karpaty” didn’t come out as they should have, so to speak. We didn’t sort out the standard situation, who should be where, who should play with whom. “Dynamo” exploited this well. It was a bit of bad luck, I’d say. We made mistakes again, but it’s okay. We should have won.

There was a heavy cloud of pressure over “Karpaty,” no victories. Now we’ve beaten “Obolon.” A positive result in the end against “Dynamo” — the leader of the championship. It’s a bit easier psychologically now. The pressure was there, but we didn’t feel it too much. We talked to the guys that we go out and play what the coach requires of us and not to pay attention to anything else. If comparing the two games — “Karpaty” vs. “Shakhtar” and today’s “Karpaty” vs. “Dynamo,” the scenarios are similar. There were a lot of fans today; I think even more than against “Shakhtar.” It was very atmospheric.

A childhood dream: to play against “Dynamo,” against “Shakhtar” — against the giants. If only Andriy Mykolaiovych had played, it would have been something special, because I once watched him play on television and would love to play against him. I have already played against “Dynamo” in history. After the game, we went to the fans, and then I didn’t see anyone else. To summarize, during the match, one could say we are losing, but that’s football. One could say we are losing or one could say we are gaining — it depends on how one looks at it,” said the Lviv resident in the broadcast of “Profootball Digital.”
