The press service of FC «Poltava» issued a statement regarding the performance of chief referee Oleksandr Solovyan in the match of the 7th round of the Ukrainian Championship against «Oleksandriya» (0:1).
“Grown men go breaking build-ups... Two defensive midfielders have received 21 yellow cards this season — such criticism from various experts has been directed at our team since moving to the UPL. But is this really the case? Let’s look at the example of the 7th round UPL match between «Oleksandriya» and «Poltava». The controversial match between teams from neighboring regions was memorable not so much for the game itself but for the controversial decisions made by chief referee Oleksandr Solovyan. From the very first minutes, there were numerous questions raised about the referee,” the official statement on the «Poltava» Telegram channel reads.
