The General Director of Dynamo, Dmytro Brif, spoke about the transfer policy of the Kyiv club.
Dmytro Brif— Can you tell us more about the work of the Dynamo selection department — who works there and how player scouting is conducted?
— Look, the selection department is undergoing a reform process. This process is still ongoing, so I wouldn’t name any names until it’s fully completed. I can only say that a sufficient number of specialists are working there — both former football players and employees specializing in Data scouting.
We are increasing the number of people, and we continue to hire. Just last week, we took on another pure Data analyst. We are expanding our base of IT solutions for player searches, changing our approaches in this area.
It is thanks to these changes that we were able to identify a number of players whom we signed at the end of the transfer window.
— Are these transfers not too late?
— If we talk about the qualification for European cups this season, then maybe the timing was not on our side. But considering the strategic plans of the club and the longer term, these transfers should yield positive results.
In some aspects of selection and negotiations, this summer has been experimental for us. But ultimately, the team has acquired players who are set to enhance competition and make Dynamo stronger in the near future.
