As already reported, the youth national team of Ukraine (U-20) defeated Paraguay 2−1 in the 3rd round of the group stage of the World Cup 2025 (U-20) and advanced to the round of 16 from the top of their group. The winning goal in this match was scored by the forward of Kyiv’s «Dynamo», Matvei Ponomarenko.
Matvei PonomarenkoIn the 80th minute of the match, the 19-year-old forward approached the ball in the central zone near the penalty area of the Paraguayan youth team and scored with a shot from about 23 meters into the bottom corner of the net.
