The head coach of «Polissia», Ruslan Rotan, after the victory over SK «Poltava» (4:0) in the 8th round of the Ukrainian championship, commented on the call-up of the team winger Vladyslav Veleten to the Ukraine national team.
Ruslan Rotan— Veleten scored a goal and ran to the bench to celebrate. Is there some context to this?
— I think the main context is how he works in training, so this is a reward for him for his training, for how he wants to see himself in the main lineup. Therefore, first of all, he needs to receive compliments.
The biggest compliment today is that he will be called up to the national team, as far as I know. That’s really great. I believe that with his work, Vlad deserves this call-up.
— When do you think this call-up was deserved — during today’s match or was it before?
— I think he has been gradually working towards this call-up. If it hadn’t happened today, it would have happened next time or a little later.
I’d like to repeat: this is the result of how he works in training, how he wants to understand our game. Of course, the national team coaches pay attention to him.
So I wish him to help our national team now and, most importantly, to continue in the same spirit.
