The head coach of LNZ, Vitaliy Ponomariov, commented on his team’s convincing victory over “Shakhtar” in the 8th round of the Ukrainian championship.
Vitaliy Ponomariov“What was so special today that allowed us to beat 'Shakhtar'? Well, nothing special. In previous teams — in 'Rukh', we played quite well against 'Dynamo' and 'Shakhtar'. Of course, the quality of the players at 'Dynamo' and 'Shakhtar' is higher, and 'Rukh' had a very young team, but we competed with both 'Shakhtar' and 'Dynamo'. I can’t say that anything has fundamentally changed. I want to thank the guys for the game today.
The result is important in any match, but today we had a team on the field — and that was the most important thing! Many players have left us, a lot of new players have arrived, and there are new demands for them. Of course, they need time to adapt. Today we played with a different formation, we prepared specifically for 'Shakhtar', and so I want to thank the guys for the game,” said Ponomariov during the broadcast of “Football 360”.
