In the Round of 16 match of the U-20 World Cup 2025 in Chile, the Ukrainian U-20 national team lost to Spain (0:1) and completed its participation in the tournament. After the match, midfielder Bohdan Budko shared his emotions with the UAF press service.

This time we played more without the ball, and it’s significantly harder because you have to keep moving and act in defense. Therefore, when the ball comes to you, you’re already a bit tired. For the result, to at least take the game to overtime, I think we lacked a better finish. We needed to load more into the penalty area, to shoot more from long distances...
From the tournament and from Chile, the emotions are only positive. The opponents were very strong, and every game was like our last. We fought until the end. Of course, we wanted to reach the final and even win, but it happened as it happened. I can only thank my teammates, coaches, physiotherapists, and administrators — everyone involved. Everything was very well organized,” said Budko.
