The head coach of the Italian national team, Gennaro Gattuso, set a record for the national team. Under his leadership, the «Squadra Azzurra» scored 13 goals in the first three matches of the World Cup 2026 qualifiers.

In the 7th round qualifying match, the Italians defeated Estonia 3−1. Previously, Gattuso’s team beat Estonia (5—0) and Israel (5−4).

Thus, the Italian national team under Gattuso has scored 13 goals in the first three matches. No other coach has achieved the «Squadra Azzurra» scoring more than 10 goals in their first three games.

Gattuso was appointed as Italy’s head coach in June this year.
