Podillya may dismiss Serhii Kovalyets as head coach after a disastrous start to the season

Former Ukraine U-21 youth team coach Serhii Kovalyets, who currently leads Khmelnytskyi’s Podillya, risks being out of a job.

As reported by Sport.ua, the management of the Khmelnytskyi team is dissatisfied with the disastrous start of the season in the Ukrainian First League. The club bosses are considering the possibility of dismissing Serhii Kovalyets from his position as the club’s head coach.

The coach has been given four matches to rectify the standings situation. Kovalyets’s fate depends on the games against Bukovyna (October 12), Metalist (October 18), Ternopil’s Nyva (October 25), and Phoenix-Mariupol (November 2).

In the current season, Podillya is in 15th place in the Ukrainian First League, having 4 standing points after 10 played matches.
