The Ukraine U-18 youth team (players born in 2008) concluded a friendly tournament held as part of a training camp in Croatia with a match against their peers from Sweden. In the first match of the competition, the Blue and Yellows lost to the hosts 0:2, then defeated Wales 1:0, and on October 14, they fought for second place against the Swedes. At that time, Croatia had already secured the first position by defeating Wales.

Before the break, the scoreboard showed zeros, but early in the second half, the Swedes took the lead. After a breakthrough on the right flank and a cross along the goal line, Sadhrangani beat the defender to the far post and sent the ball into the net. In the 70th minute, Kostyuk committed a foul in his own penalty area, and the referee awarded a penalty, which the opponent converted to double their advantage.
Despite all the efforts of the Ukrainians to score at least one goal (Lyusin and Andreiko had good chances), the Swedes played cohesively in defense and kept their goal «clean» until the final whistle. As a result, 0:2, and the Ukrainian team finishes the tournament in third place.
