Official. Frenkie de Jong signed a new contract with Barcelona until 2029

Barcelona announced on its official pages the contract extension with midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

The new agreement of the Dutch midfielder is valid until the summer of 2029. Negotiations between the parties dragged on for a considerable time, as the 28-year-old footballer faced problems finding an agent licensed to negotiate.

At the moment, no additional contract details are disclosed, but previous media reports indicated that under the new agreement, De Jong would receive around 10 million euros per year, and his release clause would rise from 400 million euros to 500 million euros.
