Not one of the ten legionnaires called up to their national and youth teams in October scored goals or assisted in the matches their teams played.
Andriy KozhuharShakhtar defender Alaa Ghram spent both of Tunisia’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers on the bench. Recall that the Ukrainian national team of the Shakhtar player has already secured a spot in the final stage of the World Cup, so they played without tournament stakes.
Shakhtar presented three of its legionnaires to the national and youth teams — the highest number among UPL clubs during the October international break. Besides Ghram, Irakli Azarov traveled to the Georgian national team (played one match and was on the bench in another), and Diego Arroyo took part in a friendly match of the Bolivia national team against Jordan (1:0).
Two UPL representatives were in the ranks of the Moldovan national team. Karpaty defender Vladyslav Baboglo played 90 minutes in both of the team’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Romania (1:2) and Estonia (1:1), while Veres goalkeeper Andriy Kozhukhary took part only in the match against the Estonians. The Rivne club’s goalkeeper made 4 saves in the game and conceded one goal — this helped the Moldovan team draw 1:1 with Estonia.
Also, two players from the UPL were in the Kosovo national team, which gained 4 points in the 2026 World Cup qualification matches against Slovenia (0:0) and Sweden (1:0). Ilir Krasniqi from Kolos played in both meetings, and Muharrem Jashari was on the bench against the Slovenians and spent 25 minutes on the field against the Swedes.
Kryvbas midfielder Bar Lin played 11 minutes for the Israel U-21 team in a European Championship 2027 qualifier against Slovenia U-21 (1:1).
As for midfielder Gleiker Mendoza, he participated in a friendly match of the Venezuela national team against Argentina, the reigning world champion (0:1).
