We did not capitalize on our opportunities. Meanwhile, the opponent scored... Especially the first two goals. The third goal was crazy, and the second goal — we collected the ball, a scramble began... In the first episode, we should have closed down the opponent on the flank, we didn’t press enough.
The game consists of these moments. We scored, the referee canceled the goal, and we conceded immediately in response. I understand this is football, but it’s hard to accept. We saw how the players prepared, recovered after a difficult stage. We played three very good matches against 'Obolon', 'Dynamo', and 'Oleksandriya'. This result is hard to take.
The opponent’s goals should not affect our game. We need to play more calmly. The first good moment created by the opponent turns into a goal. This is a problem, and we need to think about how to keep the game away from our goal. Secondly, it’s confidence in our own abilities. The guys need to capitalize on created chances. When belief is lost in certain moments, a player may miss from three meters.
Considering the score, we lost this match. If we analyze how the game unfolded, especially when we opened the scoring, I believe we controlled the match. We scored a well-deserved goal, but everything that happened after that was a completely different phase of the game. And in that phase, I believe we deserved to concede those goals,” said Lupashko.
