’Brommapojkarna': 1. Isaksson, 2. Rask, 3. Estergreen (12. Bacteman, 72), 4. Elfstrom (c), 5. Apiyiga (13. Bergkvall, 58), 6. Wahlund, 8. Yardeh, 7. El Mallah (16. Pathansalee, 72), 11. Aurell (17. Narimanov, 72), 9. Otokwefor (15. Schaaf, 84), 10. Krasniqi.
From the very first minutes of the match, the Dynamo players started to act actively, looking for ways to the opponent’s goal. Our team had several promising attacks, but the Swedes, in their penalty area, were error-free for a while. Andreyko, Redushko, and Hrodzyinsky were active on the Kyiv side, regularly finding themselves in the epicenter of events, but their shots did not reach the target. The same applies to set pieces, particularly corners, after which the guests managed to clear, kicking the ball as far away as possible. At times, the opponent’s goalkeeper had to demonstrate outstanding reactions, while at other times defenders threw themselves under the Ukrainian shots selflessly.
Free kicks executed by our team were also dangerous. In short, our team dominated the opponent by all indicators, not allowing a single shot on our goal until the middle of the half. The only shot that followed, performed by Krasniqi, was very inaccurate and became the only one in the first half of the match. Half an hour into the match, Dynamo found themselves in a tricky situation — the referee spotted a rough foul by Redushko during a challenge with the opponent and sent our winger off, showing him a straight red card. Thus, for most of the game, Ukrainians were a man down.
Even in such a situation, the 'White-Blues' did not stop, continuing to attack. Osipenko was close to putting his team ahead, but goalkeeper Isaksson punched the ball out from under the crossbar, turning it into a corner. As the added time to the first half was running out, Lyusin earned a free kick and took the cross himself to the left into the penalty area, straight to Zakharchenko, who joined the attack, avoided marking, and headed the ball into the net, scoring 'in the dressing room' — 1:0.
Soon after the second half began, Andreyko had an incredible opportunity to double the score but missed it, causing disappointment among teammates and fans. Ivan found himself in front of the goal, moved slightly from right to center, but while trying to hit the far corner, sent the ball past the post. A few minutes later, Andreyko again found himself in a shooting position. Being close to the edge of the goalie box, he attempted a shot while falling, but couldn’t outplay the goalkeeper, who caught the ball.
Attempts by Hrodzyinsky and Ozymay should also be mentioned, but our players lacked precision. Meanwhile, on the other side of the field, our goalkeeper Surkis had to intervene twice after potentially dangerous moments from 'Brommapojkarna’s' players — and both times Vyacheslav played reliably. He also saved the team in added time, after a strong shot by Krasniqi from the center of the penalty area, managing to raise his hands in time and react. The last chance to equalize was missed by Krasniqi, whose free-kick shot was blocked.
Thus, the final score was 1:0 — a minimal home victory for 'Dynamo U-19', achieved while being a man down.
Note that the return match of the second round of the 'Champions Path' UEFA Youth League against 'Brommapojkarna U-19' will be held away in two weeks, on Wednesday, November 5.
