Former head coach of Kyiv’s Obolon, Valeriy Ivashchenko, predicted the upcoming matches of Dynamo and Shakhtar in the main round of the Conference League.
Valeriy Ivashchenko— For the Dynamo and Shakhtar players, these matches will be important in the psychological aspect, considering their recent failures on the domestic front. On the other hand, in my opinion, our giants lack the personnel potential that would allow them to successfully compete on three «fronts»: the Conference League, the championship, and the Cup of Ukraine.
One must also consider the logistical problems, which negatively affect the training process and recovery. However, we have what we have. That’s why I think our teams have already decided on their priority tournaments. However, this does not mean that they will not give their all or will be cautious in challenges, but I have no doubt that they will remember the busy match schedule awaiting them when they return home.
I hope that Dynamo and Shakhtar will not concede today: the Kyiv players, even without Andriy Yarmolenko and Mykola Shaparenko, will draw away against Turkey’s Samsunspor — 0:0, while Donetsk will snatch a victory in Krakow against Poland’s Legia 1:0. In Ukraine, Shakhtar finds it very hard to score goals, but in the Conference League, one of their Brazilians will make a significant impact, Ivashchenko said.
