On Thursday, October 23, matches of the 2nd round of the general stage of the Conference League of the 2026/26 season took place. In one of them, Turkey’s «Samsunspor» faced Kyiv’s «Dynamo». The match was held in Samsun.

The score of this match was opened already in the 2nd minute: after a tackle in the «Dynamo» half, Koulibaly broke through the central zone, passed to the right to Muandilmadji, who in «Dynamo»'s penalty area chipped the ball over the outgoing Neshcheret, playing it to Musaba, who tapped into the empty net — 1:0.
Overall, it must be acknowledged that «Samsunspor» smartly built their game: the hosts did not aim for ball control but focused on interceptions, space, and the speed of their attacking players. The Dynamo players had opportunities to start positional attacks, but struggled to cross the center line as they were aggressively met by the opponents.
Nevertheless, in the 29th minute, the visitors should have equalized: Buyalsky from the semicircle played left to Ogundana, who brilliantly crossed the far post, leaving «Samsunspor»'s goalkeeper out of play, and Karavaev had the chance to strike from two meters but managed to miss.
When you don’t score, they score against you: five minutes passed, and «Dynamo» conceded the second goal. Yuksel shot from the edge of the penalty area, missed the target, but the ball deflected off Musaba to Muandilmadji, who from close range left Neshcheret no chance — 0:2. Soon after, the score almost became crushing: Musaba easily passed Popov in «Dynamo»'s penalty area, played to the near post aiming for Hols, who shot but «white and blue» were saved by Neshcheret, who managed to divert the ball to a corner. As a result, the first half ended 2:0 in favor of «Samsunspor».
After the break, the pattern of the game remained the same. And in the 59th minute, «Samsunspor» spared «Dynamo»: a quick counterattack by the hosts ended with a shot by Muandilmadji from five meters, missing the post by a whisker. However, three minutes later the score became smashing: the Dynamo players left Hols unmarked, who delivered a prepared shot from about 23 meters, a ricochet off Tiare — and the ball ended in the bottom corner of «Dynamo»'s goal — 3:0.
It would be nice to write that after this «Samsunspor» calmed down and «Dynamo» took the advantage, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. The host team, as before, felt completely confident, even though they allowed the opponent to control the ball in their half. Nothing changed. And did not change. Thus the dreadful 3:0 — «Dynamo»'s second consecutive defeat in the main stage of the Conference League.
In the next round of the tournament, the Kiev team will play against Bosnian «Zrinjski». This match will take place on November 6 in Lublin.
