Daniil Varakuta. Photo — metalist1925.com— The team drew with both UPL giants — 'Shakhtar' (1:1) and 'Dynamo' (1:1). What was decisive in achieving such a positive result?
— First of all, discipline and dedication. We approached these matches with the mindset of winning. But what gives us more confidence is not the result itself, but how we looked on the field. In these games, we showed quality football and looked good against our giants.
— In both matches, you conceded first but managed to come back. Is this more about the team’s character or is it a game pattern — did you just outplay your renowned opponents in the second half?
— This is more about character. We didn’t lose heart after conceding goals, continued to impose our style, and believed in each other. And of course, the support of our fans always provides strength and confidence, especially at such moments.
— Your personal impressions of the matches with the giants — who and what stood out the most?
— There are many things to note in these teams, but what stood out the most was the individual skill of their players. Each of them has a high level, and it is immediately felt on the field.
