Commentator Viktor Vatsko spoke about the new kit of the Ukrainian national team, photos of which appeared online yesterday.
New Ukrainian National Team Kit— I can confirm that the home kit of the Ukrainian national team will have exactly this design. And the quality of the jersey — truly top-notch! Just top! Like all top national teams and clubs that play in Adidas. And the Ukrainian national team, according to the FIFA ranking, is in the category 'C'. And no manufacturer makes custom kits for teams of such a level. Previously, the Ukrainian team always played in simpler, cheaper kits. And the one they played in this year after signing the agreement with Adidas is also simple and cheaper. However, starting with the November matches, the Ukrainian national team will have a custom option, top category. And Ukraine is the only team in the world from the 'C' category that has agreed on a custom kit.
The official presentation of the new kit will take place, if I’m not mistaken, this week, November 5. And what’s important: it will be a presentation only of the yellow, home kit. And the blue, away one, as I understand, will be presented next year, before the March matches of the Ukrainian national team. And according to what my WhatsApp says, in terms of design, it will be radically different from the yellow one. It will have some different pattern. And my WhatsApp says that we should expect a 'treat'.
There is one more political nuance. On the back under the collar, there will be the inscription: 'Ukraine Above All!'. The catch is that UEFA has not yet approved this inscription, as they consider it a political slogan, and political slogans are prohibited on kits. Therefore, if you see any leaks from Adidas, the back under the collar will have: 'Ukraine'. No, the game kit will have the inscription: 'Ukraine Above All!'. Adidas just wants not to violate UEFA rules. In short, the slogan 'Ukraine Above All!' is considered by UEFA as a political slogan, and political slogans on kits, as UEFA says, are prohibited. That’s what UEFA says. Whereas FIFA gave permission to place this slogan on the Ukrainian national team’s game kit, and our junior team at the U-20 World Cup in Chile already played with the slogan 'Ukraine Above All!' printed on the game kit under the collar on the back. And on the new kit, it will be exactly this slogan — 'Ukraine Above All!' — said Vatsko on his YouTube channel.
