Former Ukrainian national team player Ihor Zhabchenko shared his expectations ahead of the UEFA Europa Conference League match between Dynamo and Zrinjski.
Ihor Zhabchenko— We expect only a victory. We really want Dynamo to secure it in this European competition. Yes, it will be difficult, but it is necessary to do it.
— What can you say about Dynamo’s current readiness for the next duel on the European stage?
— Dynamo players can succeed in the game against Zrinjski. I like our team at the moment. Perhaps at this stage, they are slightly lacking in European competition, but they look quite good in the Ukrainian championship. Even despite Sunday’s defeat against Shakhtar. I believe that there was a clear penalty due to Konoplia’s foul in that game. However, regardless of that match, I repeat: Dynamo currently looks quite good. Therefore, they should earn points in the UEFA Europa Conference League too.
— Many are now talking about the coaching staff’s decision to move Andriy Yarmolenko to the attack line. How does he perform in this role according to you?
— Not bad. He holds onto the ball well, understands the game, and also draws the opponent’s central defenders onto himself.
— Do you think Oleksandr Shovkovskyi will also stick to this practice in the match against Zrinjski?
— I think so. Why change something if it’s effective? I believe Yarmolenko will play as a forward against the Bosnians.
