Former forward of Kyiv’s «Dynamo» Victor Leonenko shared his impressions of his former team’s match against Bosnian «Zrinski» (6:0) in the 3rd round of the main stage of the Conference League.

— «Dynamo» can be congratulated, and the Bosnians reproached for starting sharply but quickly deflated. It is encouraging that our set pieces worked again. On the downside, I note that Mikhalko and Buyalsky had killer moments, I don’t know how they missed from such positions. You can’t waste such moments!
But the main thing is that they scored six goals. We were lucky that the champion of their country looked strange and weak. I thought our championship was weak, but it turns out there is an even weaker one.
— All «Dynamo» goals were scored by different players.
— That’s good. When only one scores, it means someone else is falling behind.
— I can’t even remember when both of our teams won in European competitions on the same day.
— I wouldn’t call them European competitions, judging by the opponents of «Dynamo» and «Shakhtar». It feels like they played in the Ukrainian Cup against Second League teams. You can’t draw any conclusions from these matches because the opponents were very weak.
— Did Shovkovskiy surprise you with any decisions in the match against «Zrinski»?
— I never criticize coaches, they know better, but I was surprised by Ogunday’s substitution after the break with a slippery scoreline because he was the most active in the first half (Shovkovskiy said after the match that Shola didn’t enter the game, so he substituted him with Voloshyn, — ed.). Shola constantly «drove» the opponent on the flank, unable to catch up with him, and made sharp crosses.
— How do you rate Mikhalko’s performance as a left-back?
— In this match, he looked better than Dubinchak and Vivcharenko, but it’s too early to draw conclusions from playing against such a weak team. Mikhalko did his job well — there were many crosses from his flank.
— Buyalsky received the highest rating from statistical portals. Do you agree?
— Who are these people — analysts, — and how do they calculate their ratings? Why not give Nesheret the best rating for keeping a clean sheet? When the score is 6:0, everyone is a «Man of the Match».
— What do you think about Dynamo’s upcoming match in the UPL against LNZ?
— LNZ is unclear to me. They can beat «Shakhtar», but then lose points against a weak team. In our championship, all teams are the same, weak «Poltava» almost beat «Kryvbas». But I’m afraid that «Dynamo» might have used up all their goals today, and there won’t be enough for LNZ. We’ll see.
