Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola expressed full confidence that midfielder Rodri will soon return to his best form following a severe knee injury, reports DPA.
Pep Guardiola— I am 100% convinced he will return and play at his level again. He might need a little time because he needs to play matches, matches, matches... but he will do it.
I just want Rodri to be happy, to smile and enjoy football again. It’s hard, but he is one of the most dedicated footballers I have seen in my career. He puts in incredible effort.
The hardest period is already behind. It was during the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh month after the injury. Now all of this is behind, — said Guardiola.
The Spanish midfielder, who won the Ballon d’Or last year, missed most of the 2024/2025 season due to injury and is still gradually recovering. Rodri played last weekend but missed the Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.
