The Saudi club «Al-Shabab» made an official statement regarding the FIFA ban on registering new players due to outstanding debts to Kyiv’s «Dynamo» for the transfer of the club’s former goalkeeper Georgiy Bushchan in January 2025.
Georgiy Bushchan«Regarding the circulating information about FIFA’s decision to prohibit our club from registering players, we would like to clarify that this decision concerns a financial debt to Kyiv’s „Dynamo“ in the amount of 500,000 USD for the transfer of Ukrainian goalkeeper Georgiy Bushchan. This amount was supposed to be paid after the contract was signed.
The management of „Al-Shabab“ confirms that since the issuance of the mentioned decision, immediate steps have been taken to settle the debt. The decision stipulates that the registration ban will be lifted after full payment, allowing the club to register its players in the upcoming winter transfer window,» said «Al-Shabab» in a statement.
Additionally, according to unofficial information, the transfer sum for Bushchan from «Dynamo» to «Al-Shabab» amounted to 3 million euros. Since September this year, Bushchan has been on loan with Zhytomyr’s «Polissya».
