Former coach of Kyiv’s 'Arsenal', Kamianske’s 'Stal', and Lviv’s 'Rukh', Leonid Kuchuk might return to lead Moldova’s most titled club — Tiraspol’s 'Sheriff'.

Leonid Kuchuk

In January 2004, the Belarusian specialist took charge of this team, working as its head coach for exactly six years, and then for more than a year (with breaks) served as the sports director of the Tiraspol club.

And this fall, the 66-year-old Kuchuk was spotted in Tiraspol, maintaining contacts with FC 'Sheriff'. Considering that the Moldovan club has significantly reduced its competitiveness in both domestic and European arenas, this coach is being touted in the country’s football circles as the successor to the current 'Sheriff' coach, Viktor Mikhailov.

In the current championship, 'Sheriff' has already suffered five defeats, currently placing third in the league standings.

Leonid Kuchuk, along with Ukrainian Yuriy Vernydub, is considered the most successful coach in 'Sheriff’s' history. Under his leadership, the Tiraspol team won the Moldovan championship six times and claimed the Cup and Super Cup of the country three times.
