In their first match, Dmytro Mykhaylenko’s team defeated their Albanian peers (3:0). Today in the Albanian town of Rrogozhine, they faced Montenegro’s U-19 team.
The Ukrainians began the match strongly and were ahead by the 13th minute. Our team was awarded a free kick near the opponents' penalty area, and Bohdan Redushko beat the goalkeeper with a direct shot. Two minutes later, the same Redushko tested the strength of the Slovakian’s goalpost.
In the 27th minute, Bohdan Popov received a pass on the edge of the opponents' penalty area and, with one touch, powerfully struck to double the blue-yellow’s advantage. Nine minutes later, Oleksandr Kamensky made a brilliant solo run and put the ball into Dzhurovich’s net himself.
After the break, the Ukrainians reduced their pressure on the Montenegrins' goal, having only one good chance to increase their lead. In the 75th minute, Yaroslav Boyko shot just wide of the post. Thus, 3:0 — a victory for Ukraine’s team.
Dmytro Mykhaylenko’s next match will be on November 18 against Slovakia (kick-off at 15:00 Kyiv time).
