The head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Serhiy Rebrov, addressed Ukrainian fans regarding yesterday’s victory over Iceland (2:2) in the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament, which brought the national team a spot in the playoffs for a chance to participate in the final part of the world championship.
Serhiy Rebrov«I want to sincerely thank all Ukrainians!
Today’s victory is not just a result. It’s your faith, your emotions, your voices that we feel no matter where we play. We always tell the guys in the locker room: when our country is behind us, we have no right to play otherwise. Thank you to the journalists and everyone who criticized us honestly and on point.
A special thanks to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the Office of the President. We constantly feel your support—not in big words, but in concrete actions. The whole team feels your support. It’s very important to feel that right now we are all as one.
Together we are a United Ukraine. Together we are stronger and ready to achieve great goals,» wrote Rebrov on his Instagram page.
