During the discussions, participants emphasized that the management system of football in Europe requires further reforms to reduce imbalances between clubs and increase competitiveness in national championships.
In their speeches, representatives of the European Commission highlighted the importance of ensuring that football management adheres to the legal principles of the European Union, particularly democratic foundations, accountability, and transparent participation of clubs in the decision-making process.
The forum participants paid special attention to two key initiatives presented by the UEC aimed at supporting the sustainable development of European football:
- Player Development Reward — a new mechanism to encourage clubs that invest in the development and training of young football players;
- Domestic Media Rights Protection Policy — a policy for protecting domestic media rights, which includes the implementation of financial compensation tools in favor of national championships.
