A Danish court has found Norwegian footballer Andreas Schjelderup guilty of distributing sexual materials involving two individuals under the age of 18. The striker of Portugal’s Benfica received a suspended sentence.
Andreas Schjelderup (photo: bbc.com)The 21-year-old Schjelderup, who previously played for Nordsjaelland, admitted his guilt, explaining that he received a 27-second video on Snapchat and forwarded it in a group chat to four friends, realizing the illegality of his actions only seconds later.
The Copenhagen court sentenced him to a two-week suspended term, meaning imprisonment only in the event of a repeat offense within 12 months. The footballer had previously publicly apologized on Instagram, calling his act a «stupid mistake.»
