Poland’s head coach Jan Urban commented on the playoff qualification draw for the 2026 World Cup, in which the «squad» could meet Ukraine in the final.

Of course, anything can happen in one match, but we are playing on our own field and we must use this advantage to reach the playoff final.
The Final? It would be too much happiness if we played it at home. It could have been worse. It seems to me that we got lucky. We’ll see who wins the other semi-final. Let me put it this way: if we want to go to the World Cup and play well there, then we need to win the playoffs, regardless of whom we play against. If we don’t do that, it means we wouldn’t have achieved much at the World Cup itself.
Next week we will meet with the staff to analyze the qualification. Later we want to properly monitor the players. The transfer window can change a lot. There are many unknowns, but it seems to me that we can return from Zurich satisfied, said Urban to Meczyki.
