Manager of the Swedish national team Stefan Pettersson personally proposed to his Ukrainian colleagues to hold the 2026 World Cup qualifier playoff match between Sweden and Ukraine in Sweden, as had been reported earlier.

«This is an unrealistic alternative. Poland, where Ukraine held its home matches in the World Cup qualifying games, is also not the most likely option.
