Defender of Kovalivka’s «Kolos» Eduard Kozik commented on his team’s victory over Kyiv’s «Dynamo» (2:1) in the 13th round of the Ukrainian championship on the YouTube channel «ProFootball Digital.» In the match, he provided an assist in the episode of the first goal against the «white-blues.»
Eduard Kozik— A very important victory. We knew who we were up against — they are the giants of our football. So today we are happy — we won against Kyiv «Dynamo.»
— Your assist in the episode with the first goal — did you see where you were passing?
— No, to be honest, I didn’t see. I was thinking to either keep the ball or play safe. I decided to play safe, and it turned into a goal assist. It is what it is.
— Yuriy Klimchuk scored a double against «Dynamo.» Is he the hero of «Kolos» today?
— I think so. He works a lot during training. Therefore, I believe the credit for these two goals is entirely his.
— Were there concerns that «Dynamo» could score a second goal and equalize the score?
— Yes, there were moments, to be honest, we could have conceded a second goal. On the other hand, we also had moments at the end of the match. Maybe, somewhere we played a little wrongly, made the wrong passes. But in the end, we conceded one, scored two, so victory.
— Was there strength to run at the end of the second half? Because it seemed that after the 75th minute you were definitely tired.
— Yes, it was hard because «Dynamo» took the initiative in the second half and attacked us very actively. And we didn’t take advantage of the counterattacks we had. If we had taken advantage of them, we might have scored another one or two goals.
— What’s special about this stadium that «Dynamo» can’t beat «Kolos» here for three matches?
— I don’t know. Maybe because we played organized and analyzed the opponent, knew their strengths and weaknesses. Maybe «Kolos» is an inconvenient opponent for «Dynamo,» I don’t know. But today, in any case, we are happy.
