News from the camp of the rival Dynamo Kyiv in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League. The departure of the main star of this club, midfielder Mesut Özil, from the Turkish Fenerbahce can now be officially discussed.
According to the press service of the Istanbulites, the contract between Fenerbahce and Özil was terminated ahead of schedule by mutual agreement of the parties.
Recall that at the end of March, the 33-year-old footballer was expelled from the Fenerbahce squad due to a conflict with the then head coach of the team Ismail Kartal. With the arrival of a new mentor in the person of Jorge Jesus at the Istanbul club in June, the situation has not changed - the midfielder continued to train separately.
Özil played 26 matches for Fenerbahce last season, scoring 9 goals and providing two assists.
