The Ukrainian military raised the flag of Ukraine on the island of Serpents

Ukrainian fighters planted the flag of Ukraine on the Zmeiny Island, from where, we recall, not so long ago the occupation troops of the Russian Federation were expelled.

It should be noted that the head of the joint coordination press center of the defense forces of the South, Natalya Gumenyuk, announced on July 4 that the flag was raised on Zmein, but later corrected the information, specifying that in fact the banner was just delivered to the island by helicopter, and its raising should take place later, with the arrival of Ukrainian troops.

Recall that Serpent's Island, located in the Odessa region, was captured by Russian invaders at the very beginning of the war, but then a real battle unfolded for this part of the territory of Ukraine. After the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the flagship of the Russian Navy, the Moskva cruiser, the Russians tried to equip their air defense base on Serpentine, but after a series of crushing blows from the Ukrainian army, they fled the island.
