Ukrainian midfielder of the Polish "Cracovia" Yevhen Konoplyanka spoke about his dream to return to the ranks of the Ukrainian national team.
“The dream of returning to the Ukrainian national team was one of the main reasons for moving to Cracovia. If I return my uniform, I will be called up to the national team. I probably won’t score ten goals and give ten assists, but I don’t follow the statistics, and I think that none of those who hit the ball at least twice should follow it.
And I don’t think that I can be considered a lousy football player just because in some situations I won’t score one or two goals. I saw a lot of failed football players who scored goal after goal, but otherwise there was nothing in them, they were wooden.
Ronaldinho's football has always fascinated me. Beautiful style of play, beautiful dribbling, excellent technique - and all this with a smile on his face. And a blow somewhere nearby. I will try to implement something similar in Poland. If someone doesn't like it, I can leave Cracovia, no problem! But, believe me, I have never heard: "Kono, you're out of shape," Konoplyanka said in an interview with the Polish edition of Weszlo.
We add that the last time a 32-year-old football player entered the field as part of the Ukrainian national team was in September 2020.
