Former "Dynamo" forward Oleg Salenko reflects on the chances of Kyiv against "Fenerbahce".
— I expect that the match will be difficult. "Dynamo" does not have the necessary potential now, looking at the last matches. "Fenerbahce" is buying additional players, and in Kyiv many have not yet gained the necessary form. Therefore, there is tension before the match. I think Lucescu is not sure who will play - he hasn't decided on the squad. If there is no integrity in the team, then everyone has to work full time, but in "Dynamo" half of the team is lost now.
— Can Fenerbahce be called the favorite of the first match?
- It is possible, but if Mircea Lucescu can use what he has - defense tactics and counterattacking, then the chances will be equal. It is not yet clear who will play and in what position. Extreme matches have added to the ambiguity in this regard.
— Who will we see in the "Dynamo" attack?
— Kyiv does not yet have such a forward that can be put "on the edge". I will not be surprised if Lucescu puts Harmash ahead. Besedin can cling, but does not continue the game. The couple used to fail everything. Maybe Vanat can play - he's getting fit.
— Was the choice of Yarmolenko in favor of Serhii Rebrov's team surprising?
— Yarmola made his choice. If "Dynamo" does not qualify for the Champions League and plays only in our championship or in the Europa League, this is not quite the level for the Ukrainian national team. In my opinion, he should have accepted the offer from the Premier League, even though the amount of the contract was reduced by two times. I hope that Andriy will play calmly in Al-Ain. I don't think that he would significantly strengthen Dynamo now - that's for sure.
— There were talks about interest in Tsygankov, Buyalsky and Shaparenko, but the matter did not come to specifics. Is the club doing the right thing by keeping these players?
— There are many conversations, but the clubs understand that they are not in the shape to be invited now. The money they want for them does not correspond to the game we have. In order for them to "light up" - it is necessary to advance to the Champions League or, at least, to the Europa League. The national team will not play any serious matches in the near future.
