Ex-midfielder of Kyiv "Dynamo" Vitaly Samoilov in an interview "TEAM1 ” shared his impressions of the first match of his former team with Turkish Fenerbahce (0:0) in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League, which took place yesterday in Polish Lodz.
Vitaly Samoilov- In my opinion, a draw with Fenerbahce is not the worst option for Kiev, - Vitaly Samoilov takes the floor. — Nevertheless, it was felt that over the past eight months this was the first official match of the Dynamo team, they lacked playing tone, and therefore were not in optimal condition. It is for this reason that our players had to take one touch more than usual, and the opponent often managed to find counterarguments.
- Was the starting line-up of the people of Kiev expected for you?
- By and large, no, I thought that Alexander Karavaev would play from the first minutes. However, Mircea Lucescu made a different choice, this is his right, because he knows better who is in what sports uniform.
- Who would you single out among the Dynamo players?
- Vladislav Dubinchak, who not only coped with his duties on the left flank of the defense, but was actively involved in offensive operations. In the end, it is important that yesterday none of the Dynamo players dropped out of the ensemble, everyone played in a fairly organized manner, and there are no questions at all about dedication.
- How would you rate the chances of the Kiev team in the second confrontation in Istanbul?
- Since local fans will drive their team forward and demand to attack with significant forces, the people of Kiev will have the opportunity to use their formidable weapon - counterattacks. The only thing that worries me is whether the Dynamo team will be able to recover properly, whether it will be possible to eliminate some vulnerabilities. By the way, Fenerbahce did not give the impression of an invincible team. In Istanbul, a lot will depend on whether Dynamo will allow the ball to be controlled by technical hosts, how they will play in the selection, whether they will be able to effectively press.
