Former Dynamo Kyiv forward Ivan Yaremchuk shared his impressions of the recent match between his former team and Turkish Fenerbahce (0:0) in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League.
- I expected to see the Champions League game, in which the native Dynamo had the task of achieving a winning result, but I saw a game from our side, which can only be called a Champions League game with a stretch.
I do not consider the fact that Mircea Lucescu's wards have not held official fights for many months to be an excuse. After all, the team trained, there were many test matches. The roster has not received a serious rotation, and the players have been playing side by side for more than one year, and they have been played.
Unfortunately, on the field, I did not see a well-coordinated team game performed by Dynamo. On an individual level, I expected more from Tsygankov, Verbich, Kendzera, Besedin... They, led by the team captain Sidorchuk, were supposed to take responsibility, act more boldly, but this was not visible. As a result, the team game was also lame.
I think that after the first game against Fenerbahce, every Dynamo player can be complained about. It is important in the second leg in Istanbul to demonstrate the readiness to give all your best in every micro duel, not to concede in the fight, to fight for every ball, for the coach, for the prestige of the club.
I would like to wish our guys to work on their mistakes, improve their game, prove that Dynamo is not an accidental guest in the most prestigious club tournament in Europe and will pass Fenerbahce. I am convinced that the Turkish rival is tough for the people of Kiev,” Yaremchuk said.
