Former Napoli striker Dries Mertens could sign a new contract with the Neapolitans if he fails to find a new club outside of Italy, according to Tuttosport.
Mertens is a free agent and was expected to sign with a new club in the near future. It is understood that Mertens wants to receive €4 million per year and, if no other club outside Italy offers him such terms, he can sign a new contract with Napoli worth €2.4 million per year.
