Dear Yuri Mikhailovich!

Please accept my sincere congratulations on your 70th birthday!

At one time, you were not just one of the best goalkeepers of the USSR and a real rock in front of the gates of Dynamo Kyiv, with which you won the tenth, anniversary title in the history of the club. You, as it were, personified the most significant qualities of that glorious team of Valery Lobanovsky - inflexibility, reliability, maximum dedication and self-confidence. And how can you not remember that it was you, having stood "at zero" for 1100 minutes in a row, and became the author of one of the longest "dry" series in Soviet football!

By choosing a coaching path, you passed on your experience and knowledge to the best performers in Ukraine. And when they returned to Dynamo, and when they made history together with our national team, joining its victories at the 2006 World Cup and EURO 2012. As once on the field, you have shown yourself to be a true professional, adding to all the virtues also the talent of a teacher.

I wish you, dear hero of the day, good health, happiness, harmony and, of course, a peaceful sky above your head! May life give you as many joyful and pleasant minutes as possible, and may football continue to be a source of inspiration!

Sincerely,

Grigory SURKIS
