Mykola Pavlov: “Yanukovych asked why in the 2009 Cup final in Dnipro they supported Vorskla and not Shakhtar”

Coach Mykola Pavlov, in an interview with the Vacko Live program, spoke about his conversation with Viktor Yanukovych after the Ukrainian Cup final between Vorskla and Shakhtar in 2009.

“Yanukovych says to me: “Why is everyone rooting for Poltava here? Donetsk seems to be closer.” And they answer him: “So this is Kolya Pavlov, he also has the captain of the Dnepr in his headquarters. Therefore, everyone is rooting for Pavlov along with his assistants,” Pavlov said.

Recall that in that match, Vorskla won a minimal victory over Shakhtar.
