The president of Olimpia from Asuncion, Miguel Cardona, said that his club had reached an agreement with Dynamo Kyiv to pay off the debt for winger Derlis Gonzalez.
Due to the debt to Dynamo, FIFA imposed sanctions on Olimpia at the end of last year, banning the Paraguayan club from registering new players.
“I have an agreement with Dynamo on my desk, we have come to a happy agreement to pay off the debt. These negotiations took many months, they were connected with many things,” said Cardona.
It is noted that Olimpia, in order to raise funds to pay off the debt to Dynamo, turned to the partners of the club, who provided the necessary assistance. However, it is not specified what specific amount is involved, and whether Dynamo went to the world by reducing the amount of debt.
The Olimpia President also noted that at the moment his club is preparing an appeal to FIFA to inform the organization about the successful resolution of the issue, which will serve as a reason for lifting the sanctions.
Recall that in July it was reported that Olimpia was considering the sale of Derlis Gonzalez in order to pay off the debt to Dynamo.
