Manchester United are holding out hope of signing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, but are also looking at other possible reinforcements.
Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz is in the circle of interests of the Mancunians. The head coach of the "Red Devils" Erik ten Haag considers the 26-year-old footballer to be an excellent alternative for the position of a defensive midfielder. The Spaniard's current contract with Napoli runs until the end of June 2023.
"We don't need just anyone, we're looking for the right player. If this football player does not suit us, we will find another one. We have said many times that the team needs reinforcements.
We are currently working with the selection of artists available to us. At the moment, we have players in that position who are performing very well," ten Haga was quoted as saying by Goal.
