Ex-coach of Dynamo Kyiv Jozsef Szabo shared his impressions of the return match of his former team with Austrian Sturm (2:1) in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League, which took place yesterday in Graz. Recall that the Kyivans advanced to the next stage of the tournament by the sum of two meetings (1:0, 2:1).

But, from the very beginning, the "white-blue" for some reason played slowly and preferred ball control. It was lifeless football. Only after a missed goal did Dynamo wake up.
I compare the matches of the Kyivans with Fenerbahce and with Sturm. The difference is noticeable - there is no speed that was, and the game is somehow monotonous ... In addition, Dynamo players make almost 90 percent of the passes backwards. I recently watched football performed by Bayern, other leading European teams - they have the whole game only forward, even if mistakes are made. They are not afraid of it!

- I don't agree about the tone. I think that Dynamo played quite a lot both in spring and summer. Remember how the blues and whites feel in extra time. "Storm", starting from the 95th minute, could hardly move his legs, and Dynamo literally flew across the field. I think that Dynamo simply does not want to take risks, the players have a certain fear of making a mistake.

- It was a childish mistake, a gift from Sturm. Four Dynamo players were actually watching the ball into their penalty area. But this could not be taken into account if the people of Kiev played more boldly and aggressively, made more runs into free zones. Then we would have had a chance to score against Sturm and not grab our heads after a missed goal.

- As for Karavaev, I thought that he would be in the starting lineup. Why Lucescu doesn't play it from the first minutes, I don't know. Maybe the coach has such a special idea that fresh Karavaev will appear and will definitely score.

Benfica will carefully study Dynamo's game against the Austrians and draw conclusions. Lucescu, choosing the composition and tactics for the duel with Lisbon, will hope that he will be able to fight back and one of the Dynamo players will be able to run away from everyone and score. But it seems to me that the people of Kiev, unfortunately, will not overcome Benfica.
