Deputy General Director of Kyiv "Dynamo" Sergey Mokhnik told fanday How was the regular meeting of the clubs on the unified TV pool of the UPL.
"So far, no decision has been made"
- Tell us, how are things going with the unified telepool after the next meeting with the clubs, the broadcaster and the federation?
- Our position has not changed, there is nothing new on any issue. We want our fans to be able to watch Dynamo matches on public channels, even if it will be with a delay.
- Journalist Igor Burbas said that Dynamo disrupted the telepool meeting, was that true?
- Maybe Burbas will have an office nearby on the fifth floor? He writes everything and will be the mouthpiece of the organization. Burbas knows a lot, before he had to set up an office in one club, but now, probably, in a federation.
— How was the meeting?
— So far, no decision has been made. 12 clubs are in favor, four clubs are against. Each club has its own history. For Dynamo, I told you what the essence of our questions is. Dnipro and Rukh have a different story.
- At the last meeting, you voiced your proposals for Setanta. By this meeting, did they somehow take into account your position?
— No, no one took anything into account. If someone had taken something into account, then there would have been some kind of negotiation process and decision-making. So far, Setanta is categorically against it and is not making any concessions.
"We are not interested in money, we are ready to transfer everything to the Armed Forces"
- After all, you are proposing to broadcast on your YouTube channel and plus public national channels. Do national channels need these broadcasts, given the fact that money is needed to produce a product?
- We are in wartime today. Now it’s hard for a fan who is abroad, both on the front line and in the trenches, to find an opportunity to register and watch Setanta. Setanta has 85 thousand subscribers, and Dynamo fans have under five million, if not more. What are we comparing to what? The numbers are different. We are talking and fighting for our fan, we have the right to do so.
- Does your position with three other clubs that are against differ?
- "Dnepr" expressed a different position, they have another issue with a contract with "pros". Our position is purely fans.
- You also talked about the distribution of money from TV rights depending on the positions of the teams in the standings.
— No, we are not interested in money. We are ready to transfer all the money to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We don't talk about money at all.
- When is the next meeting planned?
- I don't know, no one said the date. Not for any discussion or decision making.
