Veres President Ivan Nadein spoke about the creation of a telepool, the choice of a broadcaster and the measures that may be taken against violators of broadcasting agreements.
Ivan Nadein- Was there the only profitable offer from Setanta Sports?
— The proposal of Setanta Sports is the only one that was accepted by the UPL and the management of the clubs, was submitted for discussion, and the clubs supported it. In the majority, 12 clubs.
- How do Dynamo, Rukh, Zorya and Dnepr-1 motivate what they are against?
— That's just the point, they don't really motivate. That's where the problem lies. No one can explain properly why they are against it. That's the trouble. I asked this question to everyone, and none of these clubs gave a reasoned answer.
International independent broadcaster, there is no political prejudice, gave the price. So, today this is the price of Ukrainian football. But now, if we do not create a product, then it will be the same next year. If we create a product, then it will grow for the next season, and next year we can reach at least the same Poland. This allows the local clubs to develop.
And if we are talking about populism again, then the viewer runs the risk of not seeing football. That is, we are in a race for some incomprehensible requirements that no one has really formulated. Someone is talking about free broadcasts. But who will do it? We do not have national television, there is no one who will pay for the production of these broadcasts. Football cannot be free, just as football broadcast cannot be free.
A subscription offer from Setanta Sports of UAH 35 is the price of a cup of coffee. Therefore, being against it is populism and an attempt to show that these clubs can influence most other clubs, but this is not so. All clubs are united today, there is a solution, the contract will be signed, and we are going into a single pool. Whoever doesn't want to, let him not eat.
- What do you propose to do with Dynamo, Rukh, Zorya and Dnepr-1, who are against it?
- Exclusively according to the law, according to the charter, which is today adopted by the UPL, which is also adopted by these clubs. We have adopted a single charter for all, and we must act solely on it. Those who do not want to will receive sanctions. We will file for FTC, fines. If Setanta Sports imposes fines on us, then we will transfer them to these clubs. If they don't concede further, then they can be excluded from the competition altogether.
Today, these clubs, if they do not take the position of the majority, will violate the UPL charter. Why then the UPL, if its decisions are not made?
