Former Dynamo Kyiv defender Carlos Zambrano, who is currently playing for Boke Juniors in Argentina, got into a fight with teammate Dario Benedetto during a break in the match of the 13th round of the Argentine Championship with Racing (0:0), reports Ole.
According to the publication, it all started with a reproach from Benedetto at the end of the first half against a whole group of Boca players, including Zambrano. And it was the ex-Dynamo player who was allegedly addressed to the following remark: “I will kill you, you fool. If we continue to just watch their attacks through the center, we will miss."
Soon the teams went on a break, and for the second half Zambrano came out with a large swelling under his eye (which can be seen in the photo above), and Benedetto with a red spot on his neck. According to the source, these traces were the result of a fight in the Boca Juniors locker room during a break in the match, which, as a result, turned into a team skirmish, and the police were called to separate the players.
After the end of the meeting, Boca Juniors head coach Hugo Ibarra did not say anything about the fight in his team's dressing room, but acknowledged the existence of an extraordinary situation: “There was a quarrel, nothing more. I don’t know anything about its reasons, I will still look into this situation within the team.”
Zambrano spoke in a similar vein after the match: “It was just a quarrel. There are often heated discussions in the dressing room about how to improve the game. And so it should be. Marks on my face? I don't know what it is. After all, I played football, anything can happen on the field in the struggle ... ".
