Matches of the opening round of the UPL-2022/2023 are scheduled for August 23-24. So far, there is no clear picture of where the representatives of the top division will host their opponents. Almost all clubs announced one or two options for stadiums where games will be held. However, given the wartime, it is quite likely that someone will not be allowed to hold fights in the desired arena, for example, "Kryvbas" in Kryvyi Rih, writes Team 1.
"Minai", "Rukh", "Lviv" and "Kolos" will definitely play in their hometown/village. "Dnipro-1", "Vorskla" and "Metalist" moved to Transcarpathia. Many teams plan to play in Kyiv, in particular, Shakhtar - Metalist 1925 will host NSC Olimpiyskiy in the opening match of the UPL. Although the same miners will stay in the capital for a short time and will hold the next matches at the "Lviv Arena".
Instead, "Dynamo" and "Zorya" plan to play at the Lobanovskyi Stadium. However, it is already known that in the second round, the "white-blue" will host "Dnipro-1" in Lviv, and the "black-and-white" will play against "Vorskla" in Uzhhorod in the first round.
The situation with Veres, which was allowed to play in Rivne, is interesting, but the Avangard stadium is not yet ready. In the first rounds, Yuri Virt's wards will play away, then there is an option with Ternopil.
"Ingulets" and "Alexandria" would like to host rivals at "Nika" CSC in Alexandria. However, it is not yet known whether football officials will allow them to do so.
