The head of the Association of Football Players of Ukraine, Oleg Pechorny, shared his thoughts on the confrontation between Dynamo and Benfica and the most scandalous topics of the UPL.
— What impressions did you have after the defeat of Kyiv's Benfica?
- Benfica is a strong opponent. The team has a promising coach and a fighting squad. "Dynamo" played decently, but made two mistakes from which they conceded. They could also score, but they didn't succeed. Kyivans constantly play away, their relatives are at home. The boys are worried. I think it had an impact on the game. However, "Dynamo" is the only Ukrainian club that performs decently in the European Cups. Our other representatives were very disappointing, both with the game and the result.
In addition, in the match with Benfica, we saw good young players - Tsarenko and Vanat. Vladyslav, if he continues to work hard, will grow up to be a really strong attacker.
— What are the prospects of Kyiv in the return match?
— 70 to 30 in favor of Benfica. If Kyiv scores a quick goal, the chances will increase. Lucescu is a wise coach and will make the necessary adjustments. There are chances.
— One of the most scandalous topics of Ukrainian football has become a single TV pool. Do you think it is worth transferring the broadcast rights to Setanti at this time?
— Today, we cannot make money from football. There is a crisis in the country, there is a war. Football should be free, as we watched Usyk fight with Joshua for free. He stepped into the situation and bought the rights to broadcast for Ukrainians. After the end of the war, you can raise the question of the TV pool, but now all fans need to be able to watch football anywhere and do it for free. Just as it will be with the matches of the Ukrainian national team.
