Konstantin Vivcharenko: "It's nice to be back in Ukraine - it has its own atmosphere"

Dynamo Kyiv defender Konstantin Vivcharenko shared his expectations from his team's opening match in the new season of the Ukrainian Championship - against Dnipro-1, which will be held in Lviv this Sunday.

Konstantin Vivcharenko

- The upcoming match will be the first for Dynamo at home since the end of last year. What emotions do you experience from this?

- Emotions are simply impossible to convey in words, since they have not been in Ukraine for a very long time. Of course, it's nice to come back - there is a certain atmosphere here. We traveled a lot, but really wanted to return home.

— No fears of playing football in Ukraine? Suddenly, the siren will start, and you will have to interrupt the game...

— To be honest, we don’t understand yet how this will all happen. I hope that everything will go smoothly, the sirens will not interfere - and the score will be in our favor.

— How would you comment on the Europa League draw?

- There were no priorities regarding possible rivals. The guys joked to get Fenerbahce and Sturm again - only Fenerbahce fell out. (Smiling). Nothing, a strong team that we have already defeated. Also, in the Europa League group, we will only play to win.

- You watched the drawing ceremony with the whole team. Is this the group that can go to the playoffs, or was there a certain disappointment?

- Good strong opponents. We will take to the field, play our game and achieve results. And against whom to play - there is no difference.

- You made your debut for the main team, scored the first goal. At the same time, there is competition on the left flank with Vladislav Dubinchak. It helps?

- Of course, competition is always good, it benefits both players. We will prove who is stronger.

- Now Shakhtar has undergone serious personnel changes, and had an unsuccessful start in the new league. Do you consider Dnepr-1 one of the main competitors for the highest places?

- In principle, Shakhtar is Shakhtar, and remains a fairly strong team. I can say the same about Dnipro-1, which has received many new players, a new coaching staff. So we will go out and achieve results.

— Did you watch their matches in the Europa League qualification? What did Dnipro-1 lack to get past the Cypriot club?

— Today we watched a cut of their match. Mister noted that the score was not on the game, since Dnipro-1 is a strong team. We can say that the Dnipros were not lucky, because they had a lot of chances, and it will not be easy for us with them either.
