The English Premier League has set a new single transfer window spending record. This is reported by the BBC.

It is reported that the total amount of transfers by clubs in the Premier League was about 1.9 billion pounds. The teams were signed by 169 players. The previous record was set in 2017 - 1.4 billion pounds.

Nine of England's 20 elite division clubs have spent more than £100m this summer.

It is also notable that Premier League clubs have spent more than La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga combined.
